![]() It’s this element of having the once formidable group separated into various teams that makes this anime that much more in depth and interesting, i.e. And who are these rivals? Well, none other than Kuroko’s ex-teammates - the same ones that Kagami is looking forward to taking on. And of course, we get to watch and get involved/invested with the various games that the team play and the various rivals that they face. In true sports anime fashion, we go through the initiation into the team, the training programmes and slowly become acquainted with the team that we are going to be supporting throughout the series. Jumping to the present again, this show follows the progress of the new Seirin basketball team with the addition of our new players. But it was this lack of presence that proved to be an indispensable weapon to the first string Teiko Middle School team.īy comparison, Kagami spent most of his formative years in America, where he was exposed to basketball and has now returned to Japan for high school but is hardly impressed by the level of basketball he sees - that is until he hears about these 5 prodigies that may prove to be a challenge that he is more than happy to try and overcome. These guys were the best of the best and were completely unstoppable as a team.Īlthough 5 of them were recognised as the playmakers of the team, Kuroko was given the nickname “Phantom 6th Man” owing to his particular penchant for having a lack of presence on the court. Kuroko hails from Teiko Middle School - the school that was home to 5 basketball players that were given the nickname “Generation of Miracles”. Among the recruits enter Kuroko Tetsuya and Kagami Taiga - 1st year high schoolers who are about to change the face of this team in a major way.īefore dealing with the present situation though, we get to find out a bit about where these guys came from and revisit the past. The current team consists of guys (+ 1 girl) in their 2nd year of high school and they are looking to recruit some new members. At the beginning of the series, we are introduced to Seirin High School - a relatively new school that has only had a basketball team in existence for 1 year and when we join up, they are entering their 2nd year. I doubt that there is anyone that doesn’t know who or what “Kuroko no Basuke”/”Kuroko’s Basketball”/”The Basketball Which Kuroko Plays” is at this point. So, without further delay, let’s get this part(y) started. ![]() As one of my favourite animes, there’s no way that I could gloss this over - it deserves some respect and will be given my full attention. I did hint that this would be an upcoming post but to be honest, I had been wondering how I was going to approach this particular post - mainly because there are SO MANY characters to cover that this post would probably go on for ages! There are loads of teams, each with their own members and so for that reason I’ve decided to tackle this most epic anime in stages.
